Anesthesia
We use a variety of anesthetic drugs, with which we adjust our protocols, to meet your companion's individual needs.
Throughout the surgery, our highly trained Veterinary Technicians monitor your companion's heart and respiratory (breathing) rates, blood pressure, oxygen levels and anesthetic depth. Once the surgery is completed your pet continues to be assessed and monitored by our dedicated team to ensure a smooth and pain-free recovery period.

Pre-anesthetic blood tests
Once admitted into our hospital, all surgical patients receive a thorough examination. Since some diseases are not detected on the physical examination, we perform blood tests on most non-routine surgeries and strongly recommend pre-anesthetic blood work for all elective surgeries (spays / neuters). These tests give us a more complete picture of your pet's health and allow us to select an anesthetic regimen that is best suited to your pet.

Surgical Pain Management
Pain management is a part of our protocol before, during and after surgery. Our goal is to keep your pet as comfortable as possible. We have a number of pain management medications and techniques to choose from. With your pet's health and wellbeing in mind, pain management is a top priority with each surgical procedure we perform.

Updates
Once the surgical procedure is completed, the surgeon or one of our Veterinary Team members will phone you with an update of your pet's condition and the time we anticipate your companion may go home. For this reason we ask that you leave a number where you can be reached at all times. Also, if at any time you wish to call us for an update, you are welcome to do so.
We appreciate your trust and allowing us to care for your pet. We care for each of our patients as if they were part of our own family.
