Our Veterinarians
Dr. Heather Donohue Dr. Donohue graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph in 2015. She grew up in Kingston, Ontario and spent time working at veterinary clinics and a horseback riding camp. She spent her first few years as a veterinarian at a small animal practice in Renfrew, Ontario. She joined the Grenville-Dundas team and became a practice owner in 2018. She has her silver certification in Low Stress Handling and is passionate about making our patients as comfortable as possible. Dr. Donohue’s special interests include soft tissue surgery, dentistry and pain management. Outside of work, her interests include music, playing sports and spending time with her husband Brenden and their Great Dane Bowie in the great outdoors. |
Dr. Valerie Lalonde
Dr. Lalonde graduated from the University of Montreal's Faculté de Médecine Vétérinaire in 2009. She then completed a one year internship in equine medicine before moving to practice in Muskoka. After her time in cottage country, she moved back closer to home to work with small animals as well. After a one year maternity leave, she’s excited to join the incredible team at the Grenville-Dundas Veterinary Clinic. Dr Lalonde enjoys preventative medicine and dentistry. It will be her pleasure to do appointments in French as well! She currently shares her country home with her two cats, Sushi and Kimono, her three legged dog Kona, her husband and their young son. Her current hobbies include gardening, triathlon and archery. |
Dr. Julia Whatley
Dr. Whatley graduated with distinction from the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph in 2020. She has travelled to almost every continent to practice her love of veterinary medicine, participating in spay/neuter initiatives and working with wildlife rehabilitation facilities. In her final clinical year, Dr. Whatley spent her summer externship with our sister clinic, and her values aligned perfectly with our mission to provide compassionate care for animals and their families. Her interests include preventative care, pain management and surgery. Originally from the Peterborough region, Dr. Whatley is excited to explore everything the area has to offer. She enjoys travelling the world with her partner Zach, and staying active outdoors. |
Our Veterinary Team
Marcia Naphan
Practice Manager/Veterinary Technician Marcia graduated from the veterinary technologist program at St. Lawrence College in 2001. She has been with the Grenville-Dundas Veterinary Clinic since May of 2001 and became our practice manager in 2018. She grew up on a hobby farm in Mountain, providing the first steps toward her love of animals and their well being. She now lives in the area with her husband and 3 children. Marcia has a soft spot for Golden Retrievers and a special interest in nutrition. She has a positive attitude and brings a strong focus to client care and patient comfort. When she is not at the clinic she likes to spend time with family. |
Ginette Daoust
Veterinary Technician Ginette joined our team in 2016 after graduating from the veterinary technician program at College Boreal - Campus d'Alfred. She is bilingual, funny, easy-going and compassionate with all animals. She is a cat lover and is often called the cat lady. She has great talent for animal behaviour and makes sure all our patients are comfortable and well taken care of. She enjoys working in the laboratory and performing dental cleaning. On her time off, she likes to spend time with her family and friends, especially with her 2 fur babies, Jimmy and Suzie. |
Valerie Davis
Val has been with Grenville-Dundas Veterinary Clinic for over 25 years. She attended Sheridan College shortly after graduating from Seaway District High School, where she became an Animal Care Technologist. Val is married with four children and a granddaughter. Valerie and her husband love exotic pets and currently have a variety of lizards, and 4 tanks, including Beta fish, and tropical fish. Their feline fur babies are Chase and Moo. For Val, working for Grenville-Dundas is a joy and the staff are like family. She is fully dedicated as a team member and plans on being here for many more years. |
Megan Moretti
Megan grew up in the Kemptville area before attending school at the University of Toronto. She graduated in 2010 with an Honors Bachelor of Science Degree and then worked at a busy clinic in Toronto before returning home. She joined the team at the Grenville-Dundas Veterinary Clinic in 2019 where she loves to spend as much time as she can in the laboratory. She lives with her husband, three young children, their Australian Shepherd Hogan and cat Ralph. |
Helen Vokey
Helen has been a receptionist at the clinic since 1999. Over the years she has enjoyed assisting our wonderful clients. Growing up in the area on a dairy farm, animals of all sorts have been a part of Helen's life. She graduated from Kemptville College in 1981. Helen is married, with 2 sons and 3 grandchildren. Helen has had several boxers over the years. In her spare time she enjoys sailing, curling and being a Nanna. |
