Dr. Picketts graduated from the University of Guelph with an undergrad degree in Animal Biology in 2017. She completed her veterinary degree at the Ontario Veterinary College before moving to the Kemptville area to be closer to family. She completed a two-month  internship in equine medicine at Steinbeck Peninsula Equine Clinic in Salinas, California in 2022, advancing her skills in internal medicine, emergency medicine and sports medicine. Dr. Picketts has a strong interest in sports medicine and ultrasonography and is interested in becoming certified in equine chiropractic and equine acupuncture. She loves all things horses and began riding at a young age, primarily in reining and western games, but also dabbled in dressage. She has a keen interest in outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, snowshoeing and hockey.

Dr. Chantal Skjonsberg

Dr. Skjonsberg graduated from the Atlantic Veterinary College on Prince Edward Island in 2018. She was born in Alberta and spent over 20 years in the Maritimes before settling in Ontario. Tara
Client Care Representative

Tara joined our team in March 2021. She has loved all animals from a very young age. After studying Law and Psychology at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, she started her career working with animals at the Ottawa Humane Society; at first, working in the Investigation / Adoption department and eventually becoming the Co-Ordinator of K-9 Services and Behaviour.  Tara has a passion for client care and pets.  She believes a positive experience, education and community support are vital in the human-pet relationship.  This led her to join the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council of Canada, which gave her the opportunity to travel across Canada as a national speaker on canine behaviour. Tara previously worked closely with placement of dogs with our Canadian Customs Border Services K-9 units.  Here at our veterinary clinic, she has a friendly voice and smile at our Reception desk.  She is always willing to speak with, listen to and help our clients, both human and animal. Tara shares her life with her two teen children, husband and three dogs: Jake, Ragnar and Roo. In her spare time, she enjoys riding on her horse, Neo, with her daughter or friends.  Tara also likes to spend time outdoors on her hobby farm in Oxford Mills.  Whenever possible, Tara advocates for children, the other innocents in our society.

Joy and Kadan
Joy
Client Care Representative

Joy joined our Reception team in December 2021 and loves all animals.  In her lifetime, she has cared for canaries, a hedgehog, cats and dogs and enjoys visiting the calfs and goats on her friends' farms.  Her favourite pet was her most recent companion, Kadan, an American Akita who was fun, loyal and loving until she recently crossed that rainbow bridge.  Joy enjoys travelling and has lived in many Canadian cities including Vancouver, Guelph and Montreal.  She has checked off some Bucket List items including running the Walt Disney World Marathon, visiting Colombia and hopes to include a trip to Ireland. When she is not cooing over the dogs and cats coming into our clinic, she can be found on the back of a motorcycle, gardening, taking photos of nature or researching on her family tree.
Jayne
Client Care Representative

Jayne has been part of our team since October 2021.  An avid lover of four-legged furries large or small, she lives with her husband Paul, three dogs and one cat.  When not at work, Jayne loves to be out on the trails with her fur friends.

Ella
Client Care Representative

Ella joined our team in November 2021. She can usually be found behind our Reception desk, cuddling with whatever pet she can get her paws on! She is particularly happy when working with canine breeds that are double her size. Her love for animals has resulted in plenty of fur-friends growing up. Currently, Ella has three dogs, two cats and a hedgehog that she enjoys hanging-out with outside of work.
